Theodoros Terzopoulos: from Personal to Universal
Penelope Chatzidimitriou
ed. University Studio Press, Thessaloniki, 2010
ISBN : 978-960-12-1900-4
The aim of the book is to contribute to the local and international dialogue about drama theory and practice, by presenting the case of a Greek director, who, starting from a small village in Pieria, achieved to “compete” in the international arena.
The writer conceives the directing course of Theodoros Terzopoulos as a metaphor in art of his personal concept of life, as a labyrinth in which human searches for an exit-meaning. The writer also aims to detect the fundamental materials that shape the concrete and unchanging kernel of his theatrical act; around this kernel his theatre performances function in both a centripetal and centrifugal way.
